South West Trip Day 7 Wednesday May 10, 2017

Today starts in Tulsa, OK
And finishes in Grandview, MO
Catching a 'Q' city along the way
Poking my nose into Kansas today

Places Visited Along The Way, Photos, and Notes

I woke up in Tulsa and hit the road about 8:40
Myers-Duren Harley-Davidson opena at 9:00
I was the first customer

The penguin is back! Was gone when I visited in 2010

In Miami there is a motorcycle museum
Privately owned, just someone who is an enthusiast

They must have made a lot of HD's in 1917, I've seen a lot of them around

I used to have one of these Suzukis (left above), mine was red
Harleys must have been more affordable, not so much now

They seem to like Evel Knievel. No connection, just fans

The Quapaw Post Office does not exist any more
Fortunately, I found the city hall for a photo

The old Route-66 as it probably once appeared

Baxter Springs, KS
Visitor Center was not open
I met three fellows from Germany here
They are doing Route-66

And also, I was able to mail home about 10 shirts
to lighten the load and provide more room on the bike

Joplin, MO
Hideout Harley-Davidson used to be called Cycle Connection

The name Hideout is because Bonnie and Clyde
are reputed to hide out nearby

Carthage, Jasper County
Jasper County Courthouse does not have a sign
Fortunately, Jasper County Sheriff`s Office is nearby

Precious Moments Chapel is out in the boondocks
far from anything else
If you like weapy, creepy eyes, you'll love this place
The grounds are extremely well kept and beautiful
